Ms. Quillen has had a major role in helping pull together the teaching community and has participated in workshops all over the world with the ICAO and holds a position on the Board of ICAEA in an effort to assist in this expanding realm. Her close connection with the pioneers of aviation English and law makers gives her an insider’s view of what to expect in Aviation Language proficiency standards in the future.
Since 2004 Captain Giovenzana and Melanie Quillen have been in direct contact as a team with the authorities in adapting and implementing the new proficiency standards. They have attended workshops, symposiums, private meetings and been part of the committees convened for adaptation of the new regulations. They represent a winning team of language expertise and operational know-how and insist on quality at top levels on both fronts.
